Nneka Constantino is the daughter of Cynthia Johnson, a former member of the Sounds of Blackness and the voice behind the Lipps Inc. hit, Funkytown. Nneka’s love for music likely began in the womb since Cynthia was pregnant with Nneka at the time of the epic recording. Nneka’s musical journey formalized with releasing, “Use Your Head” a song on a children’s safety album with Why Knot. Nneka has performed character roles in the 60’s show, the Night Before Christmas and has contributed to The Sounds of Blackness (2011) and Minnesota Beatle Project Vol 2. Nneka sings alto and soprano and says the Sounds of Blackness is her 2nd family.
Professionally, Nneka Constantino is employed at Merrill Lynch and has been working with some of the country’s most prestigious financial services firms since 2000. Constantino advises high-net-worth individuals and institutions and does extensive work in the areas of financial education and economic empowerment outside of her professional duties at Merrill Lynch. She is the executive producer and host of Financial Fitness on 89.9 KMOJ, she contributed to the Emmy Award Winning Make Money Work TPT documentary and is a requested speaker on issues of wealth creation and economic empowerment.
Nneka Constantino was named 30 Under 30 by Ebony Magazine, 40 Under 40 by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal and named a 2016 Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce. Constantino is an active leader within the global community. She is an Appointed Commissioner with the St. Paul Port Authority, a Trustee for Hamline University and sits on board of directors for Regions Hospital. Constantino graduated cum laude from Howard University, with a BBA in International Business and Finance. Constantino also received additional education in Japanese language at Richmond College in Shizuoka, Japan and Middlebury College. Constantino is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and The Links Incorporated.
